Baked a Cake

So I'm finally getting around to sharing my last cake from my Styled Shoot with MJK Creative and Autumn Kisses Floral Design from last year. It's been a whirlwind few months after getting back from overseas, Christmas and getting back into the swing of things with the day job and caking again. Looking forward to creating some pretty special cakes over the coming months! 

I think Henry James said it best - "There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea". Especially when an afternoon tea looks as pretty, and tastes as delicious as these three cakes. If you also get to enjoy your afternoon tea with two talented friends, it is even more agreeable in my books. 

It's certainly been a little quiet on the cake front hasn't it! With a couple of months galavanting overseas and then throw in Christmas and New Year for good measure, there hasn't been much time for me to bake, let alone blog about it. To celebrate 2017 is spectacular fashion, I thought it was time to show of this shimmering beauty from a styled shoot with MJK Creative and Autumn Kisses Floral Design from last year. 

Oh this baby is going to be so unbelievably loved! Kim and Mike will soon be joined by their little ‘Steggy’ and I can’t wait to meet him/her.

Barnacles, Kwazii, Peso, Dashi, Shellington, Tweak and Tunip… If your like me and don’t have little ones at home, you will have next to no idea what I’m talking about. 

It’s funny how just a small change can make a huge difference to the same cake. 

Isn't she lovely! There's something about the simplicity and grandeur of this cake that just makes me swoon...

What cake do you make to celebrate a landscape-loving drummer's 40th birthday? A snare drum made to look like a tree stump of course! 

I seriously cannot believe that this sweet little girl is TWO!

Miss Alice celebrated her second birthday last month with a fun little party in the park full of climbing, slippery slides, Thomas trains, Cinderella dolls and scooter rides.
