Baked a Cake

I just loved this sweet little cake for a sweet little girl's 1st birthday!

Yesterday the boy and I had a beautiful day at little Alice's 1st birthday. Alice is the little girl of the fantastic designer behind this little blog, Iain, and his lovely partner Maddie. I was so happy that Iain and Maddie asked me to make Alice's cake. After catching up one night for dinner, I went home and quickly sketched up a simple and sweet idea, perfect for a first birthday in the park. 

The cake was a yummy lemon and zucchini cake with sweet buttercream in the birthday girl's favourite colour - yellow - with a cute hand cut sugar flower garland. I also made some cute little vanilla cupcakes with a tangy lemon glaze. The topper was created by the super talented Glistening Occasions!
