Baked a Cake

Last week was the boy's dad's birthday and they were meeting up for a few hours in Sydney. I couldn't make it but couldn't let him make the trip without a little birthday cake.
Realising this at the last minute, I needed something quick and delicious but still fun. So I whipped up this light and fluffy chocolate cake with a simple buttercream icing in my favourite size 6 inch tin - not too big, not too small but just right.
I topped it with rainbow confetti sprinkles and sat it on top of my cute little cake stand from my brother, sister-in-law and beautiful, boisterous nephews. By all accounts the cake was delicios and was enjoyed with a cuppa in the car park.
